I hope you are having a great start to this Christmas season celebrating with family and friends. This year Christmas day lands on a Sunday which has been happening roughly every seven years but, with factoring in leap years, the next time this happens is 2033. After much prayer, we have decided to celebrate Christmas Day differently this year at WestWinds. This year we would like to invite you, your family, and friends to our In-Person December 24th Christmas Eve service at 6 pm and then take Sunday, December 25th to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with your own loved ones at home. Fear not though, we will have an online Christmas Day service at www.westwinds.online.church at 10:15 am. This Christmas Day online service will have readings, Christmas Carols, and a brief Christmas message for you to enjoy in your pajamas with your family.

One of the reasons for this decision is to give our amazing volunteers a break for Christmas. Everyone from kids’ helpers, coffee makers, greeters, sound technicians, LCD operators, Live Stream operators, and musicians really deserve a break, to be honest with you. This does not even include those that serve with the WestWinds lunch program and serve with the Cloverdale Community Kitchen.

Since the beginning of the Pandemic, our volunteers have been putting in so much time and effort to serve our community and you so that every service and ministry is the best it can be. We have learned a lot along the way and now it’s time for a small break.

I really hope you will be able to make plans to join us on Christmas Eve, in person at 6 pm for a one-hour candlelight service and then throw the service up on your computer, handheld device, or smart TV on Christmas day to celebrate together with us virtually.

We here at WestWinds, the board and staff, want to wish you a Merry Christmas as you celebrate the birth of our Lord this season.

God bless you and keep you.
